Reviewing Strategic Partnerships at Country Level

In Vietnam, the UK Department for International Development (DFID) has committed substantial non-earmarked funds for the work of UNDP in the areas of governance, social and economic transition, environment, and emerging national priorities in the period August 2004 to December 2008. At the beginning of 2006, DFID asked King Zollinger to undertake a review of the first year of the Strategic Partnership Initiative, and to make recommendations as to how implementation might be strengthened during year two. Work included interviewing key stakeholders within and outside UNDP and DFID, organizing a workshop towards the end of the mission to discuss the key findings, and producing a final report, the recommendations of which subsequently fed into the second joint DFID/UNDP Annual Review.
